Technology has been an important component of my art practice for several years and I frequently write programs and make custom hardware for my work. To counter the ‘machismo’ that is often associated with feats of engineering, I try to explore how intimate—and sometimes vulnerable—human experiences can be observed through a technological lens.
I also strongly believe that having solid studio art skills is essential to developing cultural and aesthetic acuity. Whenever I can, I try to sketch or paint or sculpt — I occasionally post this particular variety of artwork to my art blog. I am also quite fond of taking pictures.
